He is the one - the ONLY ONE - who will keep amazing, and amazing, and amazing, and amazing, and amazing you.

He never fails to blow me away. Time and again. I can write hundreds of books only about the amazing miracles He has done for me, my wife, my kids, and countless people we know.

This is the most important thing I would like to tell you first when we talk about the Creator. He is absolutely, utterly, phenomenally, and overwhelmingly MIND-BLOWING. In every way of who He is, what He does, how He thinks, and so much more.

The first time He blew me away was when he took me away as a kid to heaven. I was eight years old, lying in bed, and suddenly an angel stood right next to me. It was indescribable. I will try to describe the angel, although that is of course impossible, since his majesty, power, and beauty are out of this world, and our mind nor our vocabulary is able to describe nor contain it. But I can at least try.

He was huge. I mean BIG. Taller than any human I had ever seen. His face was sturdy, solid, and yet his expression was so friendly that it gave me a sense of safety and belonging. His eyes seemed to radiate liquid friendship to me.

His entire appearance was a blend of majestic strength and kindness. Normally I would have fainted with fear, but the wonderful atmosphere of friendship that came from him totally put me at ease.

His clothes were not as we would expect, a white gown or robe. No, although he had a lot of white, he also had a golden band around his waist and gold around his shoulders. He looked like a royal warrior, so beautiful and stunning that even AI cannot come close to describing him.

Especially the eyes… The light and life that shone from his eyes were indescribable. As if an entire universe of beauty and goodness came streaming from his eyes. He didn’t say a word, but his eyes communicated such kindness that it was more than words could say.

This mighty warrior from heaven took me in his arms, and off we went...

I had a very cliché experience, as we flew through what I would describe as a narrow passageway towards a light in the distance. Only twenty years later did I hear a lot about this so-called NDE or Near Death Experience, as it is scientifically labeled. During the trip, I heard wonderful harmonious music.

Once we arrived at our destination, I was present in a heavenly world that was so beautiful, I could hardly believe it.

But I didn’t have time to observe the splendor all around me because the angel immediately brought me to some kind of royal palace. I found myself inside, and what struck me most of all was the overwhelming sensation of peace and well-being. Everyone inside that magnificent building was calm and peaceful. There was no stress, no agitation, no unrest or fear. Everything was bathed in a saturating atmosphere of perfect peace. All the beings I saw there walked like they were princes.

The angel brought me to two huge doors that towered above me, rounded at the top and marvelously sculpted. They swung open, and I found myself welcomed into a divine gathering of very wise beings. The Bible speaks about 24 elders around the throne of God. I wonder if that’s who these men were. God was there as well. But I was not allowed to remember how He looked, probably because it would be too intense for me as an eight-year-old.

Although these beings were supremely divine and royal, clothed with majesty and wisdom, they were very kind to me, as if I was their family. They loved me and cared for me.

We started conversing, and all kinds of questions were asked of me. Eventually, they asked me one very important question. This question was the reason why I was there. It had to do with my destiny on Earth. I was also not allowed to remember that question. But I gave an answer, and that’s all I can remember.

I was afraid to tell anyone of this experience because I knew people would call me crazy. I tried telling my brother about the angel, and immediately he started making fun of me.

So I shut up and hid this experience for decades...

The following weeks I had recurring dreams about heaven. I was in an enormous place, where indescribably powerful, energetic, creative, and joyful beings were dancing, swerving, and swirling, flashing like lightning and leaping with ecstasy, all at once, in an absolutely overwhelming and dazzling whirlwind of expression of their intense, burning, and joyful adoration of the Giver of all life.

It had nothing to do with what we call worship in a church, where most people stand still like dead rocks, solemnly muttering hymns to God. This was a jubilee of heaven, where nothing was held back, nothing was reserved, nothing was obstructed. All their fire, all their inner energy, all their passion for the Almighty Creator of all that is wonderful, was let out.

They danced like no ballerina can do, and they flashed like countless lightnings at once, to the tune of music equally overwhelming.

The beauty of the music was like nothing we can even imagine in any orchestra here on Earth. Sometimes we can catch or sense a glimpse of it in magnificent concertos by the world’s most gifted masters of music, but this was ten thousand times more glorious. The music sounded like the perfect mixture of rock and classical music, with every other style mixed in there as well.

It was unreal, breathtaking, and totally dazzling to me. And the colors! Talking about a light show! Wow… They didn’t need smoke machines or laser lights.

The beings themselves emitted so many colors that it was like you witnessed a thousand dancing rainbows all at once.

I noticed there were innumerable different beings dancing, singing, swirling, leaping, and flashing all at once, and none of them bumped into another. It was a perfect harmony, as if they were all led by one and the same Spirit of worship and glory.

As a child, I didn’t know what to do with these dreams. Why was I seeing this? Why did I have this same dream over and over again?

Clearly, God wanted to show me something about Himself...

God is not a religion full of dead structures, controlling agendas, and man-made ideas. He is so free, so explosive with creativity and beauty, so bursting with life.

When I got older and remembered these dreams, it made me realize how very limited humanity's understanding and experience is of arts, music, creativity, and freedom.

We can see tiny glimpses of the exuberant splendor of the Creator in nature when we see the abundance of birds, butterflies, flowers, and so on. It all shows us hints of who He is.

God is not just wise, holy, powerful, or good… He is also overwhelmingly beautiful. There is nothing as beautiful as the Eternal, Indescribably Amazing Creator of all Life. He is the joy of the angels, the passion of the saints, the king of all glory, and the terror of the demons.

I want you to know this first of all when we start talking about God…

Never forget this: if you want to know more about the Creator, look at the magnificent beauty He has made. Look at little children that are still undefiled and pure. Look into their eyes and see the beauty of Christ. Behold the wonders of butterflies and flowers. Enjoy the glory of trees and creeks. Learn to bathe yourself in what He has made for us to enjoy, and all of it sings His name all day long.

Every atom in all of creation constantly sings His praise. If we have ears to hear it, we will...

Man is always trying to understand God, but He cannot be understood. Mind you, even the wisest angels and elders who have been with Him for God-knows-how-long are brilliantly amazed again and again.

Don’t try to reason about Him. You cannot understand the most glorious, all-powerful, omnipresent One who made all that is so fantastic. Reasoning and questioning blind you and send you to the abyss of disbelief. That’s why Jesus said: “Become like a little child.”

Surrender yourself. Don’t elevate yourself. Stop being prideful and arrogant. Just humble yourself like a child. And stand in awe of who He is.

This vulnerability is where it all starts. When we lay down our foolishness, we imagine that we have to demand this wonderful, overwhelming, and magnificent Creator to somehow answer our questions or justify Himself to us.

Let it all go. Throw down the reasoning. Be like a child. Then you can begin to experience Him.

Lay down your crown. Dump your pride. Release the fear. And start acknowledging His glory that’s all around.

See Him in the waterfalls and forests. Recognize Him in every act of true kindness; that is an expression of His love. And thank Him for all that is good. Have you ever experienced a true blessing in your life? Thank Him for it, because He is the one from whom every good gift comes.

I hope this will help you to take the first step towards God. Not towards a religion.
